Rhino offer a range of Scaffold Shrink Wrap Installation services across the globe. By providing a full ‘supply & fix’ service, we are using our own products day in and day out and this helps us have a great knowledge of our products and the challenges of our customers on site.

Our teams, who are all based in the centre of the UK, erect screens, partitions, suspended ceiling covers and tunnels on a diverse range of industrial and construction sites around the UK. All hold CSCS cards, IPAF certificates and are harness trained (including the ‘Gotcha’ rescue system).

Our supervisors are qualified under the Site Supervisors Safety Training Scheme.

Before arranging for a Scaffold Shrink Wrap Installation to take place, please consider the following:

  • Ensure the weather conditions are suitable – less than 10mph wind and no rain.
  • Ensure a hot works permit is in place – the heat shrink process uses a naked flame so a hot works permit will need to be in place before any works can be carried out.
  • Ensure that the scaffold has been completed and inspected by a competent person.
  • Ensure that safe access is available to all parts of the scaffolding that require sheeting. Boarded lifts with handrails enable the sheeter to comfortably reach and touch the sheet so bare this in mind.
  • Ensure that nothing is stored/stacked on the lifts as this stops sheeting being welded/shrunk.
  • Ensure that scaffold structure and scaffold boards are flush and do not protrude. Fittings can pierce the shrink wrap.
  • A horizontal tube (ledger) is required at the highest and lowest point of the area to be sheeted. For best results, fix on the outside of the scaffold with a single coupler (wraparound). Alternatively, the shrink wrap can be battened to the inside of a toe board or build the scaffold off a board.
If all of the above is in place and you are ready to shrink wrap your scaffold structure, contact us today and we can provide you with a quotation for your project.

Alternatively, why not look at installing the shrink wrap yourself? We offer all the required equipment and materials needed as well as an extensive learning centre providing you with all the information you need to begin shrink wrapping.

FAQs

What is the lead time for shrink wrap installation services?

Ideally 1-2 weeks notice is great, but we understand the nature of scaffolding and construction sites means that you may not always have this much notice so we will always try and be flexible to meet your deadlines.

Do you use a propane gas gun?

Yes, however electric guns are available but they require three phase electricity supply, are cumbersome to use, cost three times as much and are still only about 1/3 of the power so the job will take much longer.

Can you provide shrink wrapping installation services outside of the UK?

Although we mostly provide a shrink wrap contracting service in England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland we can provide our shrink wrapping services, including shrink wrap training in any location worldwide.

What warranty is supplied with shrink wrap installation services?

Our standard warranty for shrink wrap that we install is 25 weeks subject to wind speeds up to and including 47mph.

How many square metres can a team install in a day?

We work on a 100m2 per man per day for scaffolding encapsulation & containment sheeting.
